"If a picture is worth a thousand words; a 360 photo is worth a million."

**Albert Zulps**
Director of Emerging Technology

"We have project engineers doing 360 captures of every single room, every single week."

**Josh Stewart**
Senior Superintendent

"I'm doing a 3D scan off my phone of underground plumbing; it’s supplemental data that goes on top of our aerials."

**Maurice Calvendra**
VDC Manager

“It’s helped us avoid issues hidden behind walls and improved communication with owners and management.”

**Nate Meuser**
Project Engineer

“Once our employees experience the success of a tool like DroneDeploy Ground, they carry it forward to the next project, and the next."

**Alex Ramirez**
Director of Construction Technology

"No one person is limited to being the 'capture guy' anymore. It's just you, your phone and the unlimited potential of 3D scanning."

**Oscar Martyn**
Assistant VDC Manager

## How DroneDeploy Ground works

1. **Capture**
Walk your site with the DroneDeploy Ground mobile app and a 360 camera.

2. **Process**
Photos are automatically mapped to their location on your drawings or maps.

3. **Review**
Compare what has been built to design with BIM Compare, collaborate on drawings and floorplans, tag issues and more.

4. **Report**
Generate inspection and progress reports, integrate with your project management software, or export to your BI tool.

## Supported hardware

Our processing engine works with data from any camera source and supports automated flights, mission planning, and execution across drones, ground robots, docked systems, and 360 cameras.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is DroneDeploy the right fit for your operations?

Field crews, project managers, design teams and safety professionals use DroneDeploy Ground for ground-level site documentation across construction, facilities and industrial environments. Anyone who needs a searchable, location-organized visual record of site conditions – from the superintendent on site to the owner reviewing remotely – has a consistent way to capture and access it.

### What cameras work with DroneDeploy Ground?

DroneDeploy Ground accepts .INSV and .MP4 video files from a wide range of 360 cameras. The [Supported Hardware page](/content/product/supported-hardware#cameras/index.html) lists tested and recommended models. The [help center guide](https://help.dronedeploy.com/hc/en-us/articles/25600643482519-How-to-Connect-a-360-Camera-in-the-DroneDeploy-Ground-App) has step-by-step instructions for connecting your camera in the Ground app.

### How do 360 Walks get organized on our drawings?

Walk the site with a 360 camera and the DroneDeploy mobile app and photos are mapped to your floor plan or site drawing by location and date. See the [Walkthrough and Ground Capture guide](https://help.dronedeploy.com/hc/en-us/sections/4410389283607-Walkthrough-and-Ground-Capture) for full workflow details. Filter by date to compare conditions at the same spot over time.

### Can Ground compare site conditions to our BIM model?

DroneDeploy has BIM Compare built in. Import your model and overlay it on 360 imagery from the field. Engineers and VDC teams can verify what has been built against what was designed without leaving the platform.

### Who on the team captures the 360 Walks?

Any member of the project team can capture 360 Walks – no technical training is required. A project engineer or superintendent walks the site with a 360 camera and the mobile app – capture takes minutes, and the full project team has access in the same session.

### Can we share 360 documentation with owners or trade partners?

Shareable links and permission-based access are built in. Owners and trade partners can view, comment on, or export data without needing a full seat. You control who sees what through role-based permissions.

### Does Ground data live in the same place as Aerial data?

Ground and Aerial data are in the same platform. Teams navigate between aerial maps and ground-level 360 Walks in one project environment. This is useful on large floor plates where aerial context and ground-level detail both matter.
